The Chameleon-jazz line-up can range from solo to Big band, but its most popular format is as a duo. Jane will be happy to advise on the best band configuration for your event.

Our music will brighten any occasion, but it is melodic and will not drown your guest's conversation.

We have played at various venues including: Weddings; Parties; Dinners; Corporate Functions; Craft Fairs; River Cruises and Receptions.

Previous clients have included The White Hart Hotel, Salisbury; The Milford Hall Hotel, Salisbury; Essebourne Manor Hotel, Andover; Rhinefield House, Brockenhurst; Broadlands, Romsey; Somerley House, Ringwood and Kingston Lacey.

Live jazz adds a touch of class to a function. An easy ambience for any special occasion.

Chameleon can play: latin, laid back blues, relaxed dinner jazz and lively soul over professional backing tracks recorded by session players.

We are happy to take requests for special numbers.

Jane

Jane, the band leader, is fun loving with great audience rapport.

Always bubbly and smiling; she keeps the music from becoming too serious!

Her creative flair makes for exciting listening.

Jane plays Tenor, Alto and Soprano Saxophones, and has been known to sing!

She has studied in London, Sussex and Hampshire.

She is currently performing with 2 Big Bands and a small jazz combo.

 

 

Len is a passionate jazzer.

He plays Tenor, Alto and Clarinet and enjoys all varieties of music from Dixieland through mainstream to Bepop.

With twenty-four years in RAF bands, his playing dexterity is superb. 

Len also plays in a New Orleans-style quartet and performed on the Jazz Stage at Glastonbury 2009.

Bob

 

Bob is a talented cornet and flugal horn player.

Influenced by Chet Baker, he has played for many years in Southampton and the surrounding area.

Bob enjoys vocals and sings with a velvety 'Frank Sinatra' style.

 

 

Will plays the baritone sax.

His mellow tone and melodic phrasing is perfect for all occasions.

He has played around the world and has entertained for several years on cruise ships.

Now back in England, Will plays in two Big Bands as well as a small group who play smooth, relaxing swing.

Should you have a larger party, Chameleon Jazz can provide a bigger ensemble, up to a 19-piece swing band!

The band is made up from professional and semi-professional musicians from diverse range of backgrounds. However, they all the share the same passion for good quality music. This music is mainly Big Band Swing (in a true Count Basie style) but there is a constantly changing
repertoire that includes latin, bossa nova and salsa and even clever arrangements of pop tunes.

With 2 resident vocalists (male and female) even the mellow sounds of Sinatra and Fitzgerald can be recreated.

The Band has been performing throughout Hampshire and Wiltshire for several years and can often be seen playing in Salisbury. Check local gig guide for forthcoming appearances.
